Barry S. Block is a highly respected, award winning member of the jewelry industry who has been actively involved since 1967. As President of The Jewelry Judge, New York, with offices and gemological laboratory at 320 Old Country Rd., in Garden City, NY, he is currently a full time appraiser of Gems and Jewelry. Barry opened the first U.S. based Jewelry Judge in Long Island, New York in 1988. His appraisal practice has grown to be one of the most successful Independent Appraisal Offices in the U.S. and today is the model for “The Jewelry Judge” licensing program.

Mark was introduced to Diamonds & Antique Jewelry when he grew up in his family antique, diamond & jewelry business in Australia before moving to New York in 1987 to work for Doyle Auctioneers for two years. He then took a position at Christie’s Park Avenue as a Diamond & Jewelry Appraiser for 3 years before starting his own Jewelry Appraisal Service in Rockefeller Center 11 years ago. He is A Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Association of Australia with a Diamond Certificate from The Gemological Institute of America. He is A Certified Member & Mentor for the Vocational Training Program of The Appraisers Association of America & A Member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers. He was the Honorary Chair for the Lecture Committee of the American Society of Jewelry Historians in 2003 and frequently undertakes public speaking & television appearances on varied diamond & jewelry topics. Diamond & Jewelry Appraiser Mark Bunda is also Certified under The Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) in 1999 & 2004, which is recognized by US Congress as The Chartered Authority for Appraiser & Appraisals Standards. He provides Diamond & Jewelry Appraisals for all purposes including Gift Tax & Litigation.
