Diamond ring with 1.00 carat square emerald cut diamond solitaire graded H color, VS2 clarity, 66.8% depth, 55% table and measuring 5.69 x 5.57 x 3.72 mm (ref: GIA 12951244, laser inscribed S40472, dated 11/5/03) set in 14 karat white gold mounting with four prong Tiffany style head.
The Asscher cut diamond was inspired by the table cut diamond rings of the Renaissance. The asscher shape has a similar appearance to the emerald cut but the asscher cut is most notably square in shape. The asscher shape diamond distinguishes itself from the emerald cut with a high crown, smaller table and larger step facets, which produce more light and fire than the emerald shape diamond. The asscher shape also features dramatic cut corners, which make the setting process easier than setting the pointed corners of a princess cut diamond.
